I have a friend who almost quit using Instagram. Why? Almost everyone looks in perfect shape on Instagram. It seems like she is the only one still walking around the United States with belly fat.

Unfortunately, this is not true. Belly fat is a big problem among many women in the United States today.

New research by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) showed that more than 70% of U.S adults are either obese or overweight. Women suffer from obese and overweight more than their male counterpart.

This problem is becoming so serious that scientists are calling for public health action because of the dangers of belly fat or being overweight. Indeed, you may have tried many solutions to lose belly fat without success.

The truth is that losing belly fat is one of the most challenging things you will ever do. This is because women’s bodies tend to retain fat in the midsection fiercely. However, it is not impossible. With the dedication and right method, any woman can lose belly fat.

I have seen a couple of friends who complained they have been going to the gym and still find it challenging to get rid of belly fat. You can’t rely on planks, crunches, or sit-ups when you are trying to get rid of belly fat.

1.) Do More Strength Training

Like I mentioned above, when you want to get rid of belly fat, just doing crunches and planks won’t do it for you. You will need to get involved in full-body strength training.

According to experts, you will need to ensure you are lifting weights at least 2 to 3 times every week. Constant strength training will help to speed up fat loss.

Moreover, you will gain more muscle and feel good overall. You have a higher chance of getting your belly fat to shrink if you do regular strength training.

2.) Do More High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)

If you want to burn calories, then doing cardio is a must. It helps to burn calories and improve your cardiovascular health.

However, to get a faster result, you need the type of cardio known as the high-intensity interval training

. This type of cardio is more strenuous; it gets your heart racing and puts you in the ultimate fat-burning zone. Note that you will need at least 150 minutes of cardio each week.

3.) Eat Vegetables

Part of losing belly fat is making sure you are getting the exact nutrients your body needs. You also need to make sure that your stomach has less room for the food it doesn’t need.

Try to eat more vegetables when you are trying to lose belly fat. This is because they are high in fiber and, therefore, more filling. It is recommended that you start your meal by eating vegetables first, such as vegetable soup or steamed veggies.

This way, you will have less urge to overeat other foods. Make sure you fill half of your plate with vegetables, one quarter with lean protein, and then complex carbohydrates should make up the remaining quarter.
